SWE-DISH chosen by MBC TV

SWE-DISH Satellite Systems has been chosen to supply mobile satellite communication equipment for live news coverage to the Arabic TV station, MBC TV.

Effective March 2006, the leading Arabic MBC TV station will start using SWE-DISH Drive-Away systems within its mobile fleet. MBC broadcasting stations will be equipped with state-of-the-art SWE-DISH DA150K Drive-Away, a unique concept for vehicle mount antenna systems. Mounted on top of an SNG van, the elegant looking roof box contains an antenna that deploys and automatically points towards the selected satellite and allows on-air broadcasting within 10 minutes, transmitting SNG back to base.

Ease of use, protection of outdoor equipment inside the pod, and the exceptional antenna performance make SWE-DISH antennas a favorable choice for MBC.

"The DA150K Drive-Away antenna is ideally designed for live news coverage. And the system's quick deployment and robustness fit MBC's requirements in efficient and highly professional news coverage", says Lars Jehrlander, CEO SWE-DISH Satellite Systems.

Among various specifications of the system, are the following key features:

- Low drag and low profile - due to aerodynamic shape
- Rugged - all equipment is totally encapsulated during transportation
- Wide choice of configurations - automatic alignment with GPS, step tracking, single thread, redundant, phase combined, integrated aircon system
- FCC compliant, Eutelsat/Intelsat compliant, station approved
