US Department of Defense assigns military nomenclature to SWE-DISH satellite terminals

The US Department of Defense has assigned the AN/USC-67 designation to the SWE-DISH FA150T Mil Fly-Away system and the AN/USC-68 designation to the SWE-DISH IPT Mil Suitcase.

The combat proven IPT Mil Suitcase satellite system (AN/USC-68) is the world's most compact and quickest-to-air broadband satellite system. It combines easy, one-person operation with exceptional technical performance to allow 2 Mbps broadband transmission. It is in active use with the US Defense, and has proven its capabilities during recent conflicts.

The tried and true FA150T Mil Fly-Away system (AN/USC-67) is the world's smallest tri-band system with an X-band certification from DISA. It gives tri-band satellite communication capabilities to mobile command posts, tactical units, and theatre broadcast elements. Data capability ranges from 64 kbps to 60 Mbps and allows for IP encrypted traffic. The FA150T also features tracking of inclined orbit satellites.

Both these systems are part of the USSOCOM Compact Broadband Remote Antenna (CoBRA) Program.

"Development of the two systems has been done in close cooperation with the US Department of Defense. They are currently deployed. We are proud of the feed-back we are receiving about their performance in ongoing operations", says Lars Jehrlander CEO, SWE-DISH Satellite Systems.
