SWE-DISH Suitcase gets FCC license
The SWE-DISH Suitcase has been awarded a FCC license. This simplifies usage in the US, and is also a confirmation of the Suitcase's performance. The SWE-DISH Suitcase is with this license again breaking new ground. It is the first terminal of its type, small mobile broadband satellite terminals, to receive such a license.
Over the last year SWE-DISH has been busy working together with the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to document and review the performance of the Suitcase. Literally thousands of measurements on the performance have been made and documented, taking into consideration the demands of 2-degrees spacing. On August 23, a FCC license was awarded (E030197).
Lars Jehrlander, CEO of SWE-DISH, says "For our customers there are mainly two benefits with the FCC license. Firstly, it makes it easier for them to operate the Suitcase in the US. Secondly, it is an independent confirmation of its quality and performance. This license is important not only for civilian customers, but also for military users."
The SWE-DISH Suitcase has previously been awarded type approvals from Intelsat (IA097AA0), Eutelsat (EA-V042), and Europe*Star (ES-ME-39).
Lars Jehrlander concludes, "These licenses and approvals together give Suitcase users easy access to global coverage of satellite capacity. They are not awarded lightly. Rigorous and extensive testing, documentation and verification form a foundation. We are proud over the Suitcase. It is the only small mobile broadband satellite terminal with these approvals and licenses."
