SWE-DISH Launches New CommuniCase® Technology SATCOM Antenna Module, the Suitcase® CCT120, at IBC2008
STOCKHOLM, Sweden – Sept. 8, 2008 – SWE-DISH Satellite Systems AB, a DataPath® company specializing in compact, quick-to-air and easy-to-use mobile satellite communications (SATCOM) equipment, is adding a 1.2-meter antenna module to the CommuniCase® Technology product line, creating the new SWE-DISH Suitcase® CCT120. This is the latest enhancement to the proven line of ultra-portable SWE-DISH Suitcase terminals. Suitcase terminals, known for being light, compact and easy to use, have transformed the way journalists, military personnel and emergency first responders communicate from remote locations. SWE-DISH will present the Suitcase CCT120 for the first time at IBC2008 in Amsterdam, Sept. 12-16, 2008, at stand 1:A39.
The innovative common modular system architecture of CommuniCase Technology creates a line of easy-to-change terminals designed to meet present and future operational needs, thereby significantly reducing a customer’s total cost of ownership. To meet current requirements, users can select from CommuniCase Technology modules. These modules can enable users to deploy different transceivers to support multi-band capability as well as interchange various antenna sizes and modems (SCPC, TDMA, iDirect) to meet operational needs. Once invested in one system it is very easy and cost effective for customers to upgrade and enhance their SATCOM capabilities.
By offering higher throughput via a larger antenna, the Suitcase CCT120 evolves the Suitcase CCT90, a 0.9-meter terminal that was launched in 2007. The modular architecture of CommuniCase Technology enables existing customers to easily upgrade to the 1.2-meter antenna. Like all products in this line, the new Suitcase CCT120 features multiple modules, a plug-in modem, an antenna system, a controller and a transceiver, all of which can easily be replaced and used with current and future SWE-DISH CommuniCase Technology products.
“With the new Suitcase CCT120, the modular concept achieves further flexibility and the advantages of the modular architecture become more clear,” said Lars Jehrlander, CEO of SWE-DISH. “Once invested in CommuniCase Technology, it’s easy for customers to upgrade and expand equipment in a cost-effective way. This concept matches our customers’ requirements in terms of performance and flexibility. It also continues our leadership in filling the market need for small high-performing satellite terminals.”
